Tbh, Moribito as "historical" anime (sorry I can't explain it so well, I'll do my best), it's one of those animes were you like it or not, because it's a very passive type (just like you were watching the scene) and the setting is always determined.
Well, even though I didn't watch many episodes, I can say I found Le Chevalier D'Eon much more interesting in terms of plot and it was more engaging and expressive. Because the way of telling like-you-were-there, with no internal dialogs etc, doesn't disable the possibility to convey the feelings, but probably will make it more difficult and therefore more difficult to get the audience, so I guess it substantially depends of the way you portray. In Le Chevalier D'Eon I felt them, in Moribito I didn't. To be honest, I find the plot nothing special and didn't find it the bit interesting.
Concluding, don't fancy it.
